Call for participation

Welcome to IBW2008, which will be organized by Yunnan University in Kunming, China, from June 7th to 9th, 2008. This workshop will cover the top subjects on computational genomics, computational proteomics, computational systems biology and biological data mining. The annual International Bioinformatics Workshop(IBW) continues the series of five previous workshops, which took place at Fudan University, Shanghai (2003), Tsinghua University, Beijing (2004), Jilin University, Changchun (2005), Central South University, Changsha (2006) and Shadong University, Shandong (2007). The workshop aims at scientific communication for researchers at the cutting edge of progress in bioinformatics and related research fields. The first two days of the workshop (June 7-8) will involve invited presentations, given by leading professionals from China , USA , Canada and other countries, and report the latest research findings in bioinformatics and computational biology. The third day of the workshop (June 9) will be for contributed presentations and provide a friendly and flexible environment for researchers from all over the world to exchange their ideas and improve the cooperation.

Like the previous meeting, this year's IBW meeting will have a 5-day "tutorial" from 2th to 6th June, named the dragon-star teaching project completely supported by NSFC of China ( http://dragonstar.ict.ac.cn ), taught by Dr. Jake Chen of Indiana University. This will be a great oppotunity for students and junior teacher to attend.
